Overview

Project Goals

The Feature Pavers project establishes a consistent sidewalk standard that can gradually unify the public realm across Yonge + St. Clair. By reducing unnecessary material changes and introducing higher-quality paving, the initiative aims to strengthen wayfinding, and create a more cohesive pedestrian environment.

Community Impact

A more consistent paving treatment helps create a clearer and more attractive pedestrian environment As additional sections are completed, the pavers can make individual redevelopment projects feel like parts of a coordinated public realm rather than isolated improvements along the street.

Looking Ahead

Future phases can extend the established paving standard as streetscape improvements and redevelopment projects occur throughout Yonge + St. Clair. Gradual implementation allows individual investments to contribute to a larger district-wide vision, building a more continuous pedestrian experience.

Subtle Cohesion

Large-format natural stone granite pavers form the basis of the new sidewalk treatment. Rather than introducing different materials at individual properties, the approach establishes a repeatable streetscape standard that can be incorporated into future projects, creating visual continuity while remaining durable enough for a heavily used urban environment.
