Currently, a 1-hour maximum parking limit is in place on this section of Heath Street. We are exploring an amendment to implement a 2-hour maximum parking limit to improve parking flexibility to support local businesses and visitors in the neighbourhood and enhance access to local amenities.
The proposed changes would apply to the section of Heath Street between Bryce Avenue and Yonge Street (shown below).

Because 1 hour isn’t always enough.
Local businesses — from family-run health clinics and salons to restaurants and professional services — often serve customers with appointments that exceed 60 minutes.
A two-hour limit gives people time to finish their visit without watching the clock or risking a ticket.
– Local customers and visitors who need more time for services, shopping, or dining.
– Heath Street residents and their guests, who gain flexibility to park longer.
– Small business owners and their staff, who rely on customer convenience to thrive.
We’re currently gathering local support from residents on Heath Street West who reside between Yonge and Bryce Avenue.

The proposed change is to increase the existing 1 hour parking to a 2 hour maximum on Heath Street between Yonge Street and Bryce Avenue.
There will be no change to the already existing valid parking zone. There will be no change to the enforced parking timeframe, which will remain 7AM – 6PM.

No. This change does not add any new parking spots or alter the existing parking hours (7AM – 6PM). It simply extends the time visitors can park from 1 hour to 2 hours.
The Yonge + St. Clair BIA has worked closely with Councillor Josh Matlow’s office, who supports this proposed change and has provided the official support form now being circulated.
The Councillor’s office wants to ensure that all directly affected residents are properly consulted. Once sufficient feedback is received from residents on Heath Street (between Yonge and Bryce), they are prepared to formally bring the proposed change to Toronto and East York Community Council for approval.
If approved, the change will take approximately 1–3 months to come into effect.
