Development Roundtable

Launched in 2024, the Development Roundtable is a biannual forum uniting Developers, City partners, and the BIA to coordinate timelines, address construction impacts, and advance shared public-realm goals. Honoured with TABIA’s Construction Mitigation Award, the roundtable fosters transparent dialogue, project updates, and expert insights, creating a collaborative model for navigating densification and shaping a cohesive, well-coordinated Yonge + St. Clair district that maintains its unique character.

Project Goals

The Development Roundtable was created to improve communication during a period of significant neighbourhood growth. By bringing developers, City partners, and the BIA together, the forum aims to coordinate timelines, address construction impacts, share information, and advance public-realm improvements that benefit the district as a whole.

Community Impact

Better coordination between developers, municipal partners, and the BIA can help reduce the disruption associated with major construction. The Roundtable also creates a mechanism for neighbourhood priorities to remain part of conversations about growth as Yonge + St. Clair continues to densify.

Looking Ahead

As additional development moves forward, the Roundtable can continue providing a consistent forum for coordination and information sharing. Maintaining dialogue between public and private partners will help the neighbourhood respond proactively to construction while identifying opportunities for individual developments to contribute to public-realm goals.

Design and Approach

Structured as a biannual forum, the Roundtable creates a recurring space for project updates, expert insights, coordination, and discussion between organizations involved in neighbourhood change. The collaborative model allows participants to identify overlapping challenges and opportunities rather than approaching individual developments and construction impacts entirely in isolation.
